Labor day entry

Okay, so Jesse and I were up at 6am and Jesse actually suggested that we go for a run. I clapped my hands I was so happy and off we ran. The altitude was 7200 ft and let’s just say it really burned our lungs. We ran a little over a mile and that was it.

We were staying at a really cute little place that cost us 50 bones and it was so much better than our accommodations last evening. If you are ever in Ely, Nevada-check out the White Pines Inn. We had breakfast of instant oatmeal and packed ourselves and the boys in the truck and headed to route 70. We were both astounded when we looked at our watches and saw that we were on the road by 9am. Wow! We are such good travelers.

The rest of our day was spent driving into Utah in anticipation of the Arches National Park. The beauty was intoxicating and we have many pictures to show the beauty of God’s canvas. Oh, Jesse also wanted me to post that I had to use nature’s restroom-yup, right on the side of the road. Hey, I had to go and it was just no.1……. So, Arches National Park was amazing. The different hues of reds, burnt oranges and greens were amazing. We were able to visit the North and South window, which was a amazing-so crazy how these arches were formed… An arch is defined by at least 3 feet in width and in height (a little geological lesson for ya’lll). We also saw the Delicate Arch which to me seemed quite massive, but apparently it is being eroded away and it is only a matter of years before it completely is destroyed. We didn’t do any hiking because it was 101 degrees in the park and we had our dogs with us and there was no shade to speak of. All in all, we had a wonderful day. We enjoyed a nice picnic lunch and then stopped by a local gas station/market in which we bought some local Moab beer…….. The city of Moab is quite an impressive little tourist town. Apparently the town blue up when mountain bike riding became a hit. Quite the fun little town.
